World War I Honor Roll Display

Monday, December 17, 2018
World War I Honor Roll Display
Carnegie-Stout Public Library
Carnegie-Stout Public Library will host a World War I Honor Roll Display in the Library’s 2nd Floor Rotunda from November 17 to December 17, 2018.

The World War I Honor Roll, a State Historical Museum of Iowa traveling display, features thousands of names and corresponding photos, including those of 76 casualties from the city of Dubuque, that the State Historical Society collected from Iowa families who lost loved ones during the war.

The display is the result of research originally conducted by the State Historical Society in 1920, and then again in 2017 in a statewide effort to shore up official records during the war’s 100th anniversary. This work is a tribute to a generation of Iowans who sacrificed their lives to the cause of freedom.

The World War I Honor Roll Display will be free and open to the public during the Library’s regularly scheduled hours. For more information, please call Carnegie-Stout Public Library at 563-589-4225.
